Message Hello -

I was so distressed to see your latest posting. I lost my beutiful Caroline to GBM on October 20, 2005. Caroline left our 3 sons to grieve along with myself and many others.

Like you, I was her primary caregiver for 15 months from August 2004.

Please take care of yourself. In many ways, this past month has been harder on me than the past 15. I can never put all the feelings and pain into words, but I can tell you loved your Jane as I loved my Caroline.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Doone Ballantine
Message Ross, Antony, Nalalie, JoJo & Teagan,
We were so very sad to receive Ross' tragic news of the passing of Jane. You have all been in our thoughts everyday as this tragic tale unfolded. Jane was the most wonderful mother, always putting her children ahead of herself. This was not lost on anybody, including the boys in Antony's class where Jane was always the first to offer assistance. One, let alone two babies reason enough to be excused from helping in the classroom and at many other school functions, but not for Jane.
Jane's greatest legacy is you,her family. Nowhere will you find four more beautiful, well mannered, intelligent, articulate, sweet and caring children. Take what Jane has given you and build wonderful, fulfilling and happy lives. You know Mum will be watching full of pride.
Ross, you know we are here and will be always, to help you in anyway.

Doone, Grant, Ben, Elizabeth and Olivia

Dear Ross, Natalie, Antony, JoJo & Teagan,

While Jane has never been one to be the centre of attention, her fight has touched many lives thanks to the wonderful efforts of her husband (Ross). Jane’s journey (since August last year) has combined hope and information to ensure people close to her have been kept up to date. This story has also helped others travelling along a similar path.

Thank-you Ross for sharing this with us and keeping us informed.

Jane put up a valiant fight right up until the end. As her brother, I feel shattered and therefore need to reflect in the fond memories we have shared over the years, most of which are from our childhood. This keeps me going.

Life has frequently managed to provide a number of road blocks for Jane and the Kilgower family. It’s unfortunate that the Symons household, Jane primary focus which evolved around her children and husband has also been effected on this occasion.

Jane’s children meant every-thing to her. The loss of their mother will have a long and enduring impact on them all. My (Our) sympathy is with them.

Our love is with you.

Hugh, Laura, Ryan, Sean & Dylan Kilgower

Message Dear Ross

I was so sad to read today that your courageous wife lost her long battle. As I said before, when my mother died in Sept, your story and her fight has been a source of inspiration to me throughout this awful year. I know there is little immeadiate comfort to be had but please try to take some from the knowledge that her suffering is over, and she is finally at peace. Thank you for sharing your difficult story with all of us and showing that there can be hope against this dreadful condition. My thoughts are with you and your family

Message Dear Ross, Natalie, Antony, JoJo and Teagan,

Just a note to let you know that you are in our thoughts at this sad and difficult time. Jane was a wonderful person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her but I take comfort in the many happy memories of the times we shared over the last 27 years! WOW! Perhaps one day I can share some of these memories with you all.

Ross, you have worked tirelessly over the past 15 months to provide Jane with the best possible treatment, love and support. She really was extremely fortunate to have you fighting for her. Please know that if there is anything at all we can do to provide some support for you and the children, you only need to ask. I know that we are a long way away but you are always welcome in our home.

Nat, Antony, JoJo and Teagan: I don't need to tell you that your mum was a very special person. The times ahead of you will be difficult but remember that you have family and friends who love you very much and who will share the hard times but also the good times and the memories with you.You have all been so strong for a long time time now and I know that the strength of character you have developed will see you through the times ahead.Your dad must be so proud of you. I know for a fact that your mum was.

I hope to see you later in the week. In the meantime, we send you all our love.

Message HI Jane,
At last have a quiet moment to say hello.
Cindy, Ronny, Angus, Tilly and Mack are running us off our feet. It's rained and rained, the washing has blown off the line into the mud, and we are having a wonderful time!! Had lunch out yesterday for Craig's birthday - child free for the first time in many years. We had a night time 'party' for them. Today is our last day in Clare and we'll have the LONG drive home. I don't like the goodbyes but aren't we lucky to get here as often as we do?! But we look forward to seeing you and Ross and the children again. Love, Jan and Craig and Lots of good wishes from 'The others in Clare!' Keep up the good work Jane.

Message Hey Jane

Rolls and I went to Sorrento this weekend so it's been a few days since I've seen you. Well, we tried to go to Sorrento - only we got all the way there and realised we'd forgotten the keys! See, you don't have to have had brain surgery to forget stuff...

Anyway, we had a lovely weekend staying at Mum and Dad's house instead - Frankston's not quite Sorrento but it was better than our dingy apartment!

Will see you Tuesday - am looking forward to playing some more charades!

Love Little.

Message Hey Jane!

Firstly, to Paul Sanders, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. And Enrico, I wish the best for your father. And to anyone else who is obviously drawing on this site, Jane's story, and Ross's meticulous research and information - my thoughts are with you.

Jane, I hope you know you have families far and wide drawing inspiration from your efforts! You're struggling to speak, but I guess I just want to assure people on your behalf that you know exactly what's going on. That your eyes laughed clearly when I told you mum farted (probably cause you knew it was me), and that you cried when you were told about the strokes, because you know what they can mean and you're scared. And anyway, it's hard to see you cry and it's hard to see you scared, but it helps - it helps because it shows us you're all in there and Jane - your happy, easy-going eyes are exactly the same as they were when I was doing absolutely all I could as an annoying 8-year-old to get your attention (no doubt by annoying you senseless!) but regardless, those happy, easy-going eyes and your happy, easy-going demeanour never left...

So yeah! I go away for two days and you learn to ask for chocolate and demand stuff! Good work! I'll see you tomorrow. And say jack s**t. Hope someone reads you this stuff.

Love me.

Mark, Kath & Bradley
Message We continue to think of you Jane, and had a chuckle at your request of "chocolate please!"I admire the cheek, but think Ross has this off the "menu"!

Message No one here knows me but your site, and Jane's fight, has been an inspiration and a source of hope for me since my mother was diagonsed with a GLM in February of '05. Unfortunately she gave up her fight today, but I hope and pray that Jane, and all others who suffer from this curse, find the strength to beat this thing.

Good luck Jane and to everyone else

Sincerely

Paul
